The Brands We Carry

Who decides what products are carried at Rosa Snow?  Our chief buyer is Missy Killian who approves every item we carry.  Missy has been snowboarding for over fifteen years and has a dead-on sense of fashion.   Her buying choices reflect her social conscience, passion for fashion and commitment to finding the best technical equipment at a fair price.

She has selected companies who share the values of Rosa Snow and have a primary focus on the needs of women snowboarders. “That is why I like both Nikita and Betty Rides - they only produce women’s apparel and they know snowboarding. Actually, Nikita just came out with a boys line called ‘Atikin’ (Nikita backwards) and I think that is ground-breaking!”   

All of the staff at Rosa Snow have a deep commitment to the environment so Missy looks for products that incorporate recycled materials or eco-friendly products, such as Arbor’s  tee shirts made from bamboo.  Rosa Snow strongly believes that all women snowboarders should support each other on and off the slopes! Missy herself rides in a variety of weather conditions so she looks for products that not only are fashion-forward but incorporate technical features to enhance the experience regardless of the temperature.  She loves vents that can be opened to increase air flow and anything that keeps the snow/wind out at the waist, neck, and wrists.  Wicking to draw moisture away from the skin and sealed seams to keep moisture from seeping in are a must. “I like the removable inner vest on Sessions Cruiser 2-in-1 Jacket and the easy-to-remove liners on the 686 “Smarty” series because they give you so many more options.”  The goggles Missy considers for Rosa Snow must have 100% UV protection, wide peripheral vision and anti-fog features. Most importantly, Missy likes to buy the fun & colorful styles because that’s what snowboarding is about: having fun, individuality and expression.
